After the successful photo exhibition held at the NUS Central Library, we will be holding another photo exhibition show casing our past mountaineering courses and expeditions, this time at National Library.

Past Events

NUS Open House 2007!

From the 10th to 11th of March, NUS held its open house at the Sports and Recreational Centre (SRC). This year, NUS Sports Club occupied the netball court and displayed all its 29 subclubs including us - Make It Real Mountaineering Subclub. We set up a mini photo exhibition, which many came to see what mountaineering is all about.

NUS Central Library Photo Exhibition

The exhibition was part of our annual effort to promote the sport of mountaineering to the rest of the NUS community. Through this exhibition, we displayed what we usually go through when we were up on the mountains. People were allowed to vote for their favourite photo, and after the exhibition, a winner was picked from a lucky draw and he was given an A4 size copy of the photo he voted for.

Touch Community Project

We continue with what MIR5 has started, this project with TOUCH community service is aimed to help kids at risk through some rock climbing and in the process, instilling them with values of mountaineering. The two sessions we had were very successful, the kids really enjoyed themselves and were even reluctant to leave at the end of the session.

MIR 6 Team Bonding Session

This was initially planned to be a trekking trip in Malaysia. However due to the bad weather, the railway was disrupted and also for safety reasons, we decided to stay in Singapore and have a local session instead. It was a 24 hour continuous non-stop action, including a 4 hour hike, another 4 hours of rock climbing, and finally ended off with 10 hours of night cycling. The session pushed all the members physically and mentally, but at the same time, each individual has to be focused and take care of each other. The trip was very memorable.
